Community and Rank Structure



This structure is the Standard Operating Procedure (s.o.p) that is used community wide.

Modern Day Gaming has two types of Memberships:

Battle Membership -

Those who apply for Battle membership will be assigned to a Platoon and Squad, they will also be awarded a rank and will abide by the s.o.p to advance through the ranks. These members are expected to attend practices and are also eligible to participate in any competitive and friendly clan battles. This membership requires a gamertag change at the rank of Platoon Leader and is intended for those who would like to be apart of the MDG Community with a competitive aspect.

Social Membership -

Those who apply for Social Membership will not be assigned to a platoon and will not be held against a rank structure. These members are not required to attend practices and are able to participate in public lobbies only. This type of membership does not require a gamertag change, and is intended for those who would would like to be apart of the MDG Community without the competitive aspect.

Community

The community is lead by the Commanding Officer (CO), who holds the rank of General of the Army.

The Chief of Staff (CoS) who holds the rank of General, is second in command and reports to the (CO). The CoS is in charge of day to day operations and all personnel within MDG, as well as overseeing the Recruitment of new members, accepting applications and aiding the CO in strategic decision making.

The Chief Operations Officer - Battle (COO), holds the rank of Lieutenant General, and reports into the Chief of Staff. The COO (Battle) is responsible for all MDG members who hold a Battle Membership. The COO-b ensures the CLO and XO are fulfilling their duties as assigned to them, and monitoring the behaviours and activity levels of all MDG Battle Members on all social and internal platforms. The COO also helps carry out all day to day operations.

The Chief Operations Officer - Social (COO) follows the same structure as the COO Battle, but is responsible for all community members who hold a Social Membership. The COO-s ensures the community ambassadors are fulfilling their duties as assigned to them, and monitoring the behaviours and activity levels of all MDG Social Members on all social and internal platforms. The COO also helps carry out all day to day operations.

The Recruitment Liaison Officer (RLO) reports into the COO’s. The RLO is the first point of contact for all recruitment concerns. They are responsible for accepting applications on the MDG website, processing permissions and ranks, recruiting battle and social members and being the first point of contact for all things recruitment.

To be eligible for an officer position your gamer tag must reflect the MDG Tag, (ex. NAME is MDG).

Company

A company is specific to the console in which its members reside, and are made up of Platoons.

The Company Leading Officer (CLO) is in charge of all Platoon Leaders within their company, and is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations within the Company, and to ensure Platoon Leaders are operating their Platoons efficiently. The CLO reports directly to the COO - Battle.

This rank is awarded based on performance and activity level. To be eligible for the CLO position, you must demonstrate your leadership abilities, as well as have the overall big picture vision to help lead MDG along it’s path.

A gamertag change is required for this position.

The Executive Officer (XO) is second in command and works closely with the CLO and Platoon Leaders. The XO will act as liaison between the PL’s and the CLO and help ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the Company. The XO will report directly to the CLO.

This rank is awarded based on performance and activity level. To be eligible for the CLO position, you must demonstrate your leadership abilities, as well as have the overall big picture vision to help lead MDG along it’s path.

A gamertag change is required for this position.

Platoons

Platoons are game specific and are made up of 4 Squads of 15.

Platoon Leader (2LT)

The PL ensures their members are active, attending the required practices, promoting and awarding it’s members and monitoring behaviours against MDG Code of Conduct.
The Platoon Leader is also responsible for monitoring its Platoon Forums and leading their platoon in scrims. The PL will report directly to the Company XO.

To be eligible to become a Platoon Leader, your Gamertag must reflect the MDG tag (ex. NAME is MDG)

Master Sergeant (MSgt.)

The MSgt. is the second in command of a Platoon and works jointly with the PL to ensure the daily operation of their Platoon. The MSgt will report directly to their Platoon Leader.

To be eligible for the rank of MSgt, you must have attended 60 practices, as well as at least 20 documented recruits.

A name change is not required to obtain this rank.

Sergeant First Class (SFC.)

Squad Leaders hold the rank of Sergeant First Class (SFC) and are directly responsible for the Platoon Members assigned to their Squad. The Squad Leader reports to the MSgt.

The Sergeant First Class should be active in XBL clubs with a daily message, as well as ensuring the activity levels of their Squad members, they are to be well-versed in Google Docs and work this tool as necessary. The SL is held accountable for all squad members profiles to be set to public based on MDG s.o.p. The Squad Leader should ensure their members are registered on the MDG Website and a member of Modern Day Gaming Xbl Club.

The SFC runs practices for it’s Squad Members.

To be eligible for the SFC rank you must have attended 60 practices, as well as at least 20 documented recruits.

A name change is not required to obtain this rank.

Staff Sergeant (SSgt.)

This rank is awarded based on performance and activity level. Responsibilities include helping enforce MDG Code of Conduct, s.o.p and By-laws. This member activity promotes MDG in it’s affiliated Xbl Clubs and is active on the MDG Website. The SSgt. works closely with the SL and has mastered all aspects of the squad responsibilities.

The SSgt. Co-Hosts practices and lobbies alongside the Squad Leader.

To be eligible for this rank, you must have 40 documented practice attendances and 15 documented recruits.

A gamertag change is not required at this rank.

Sergeant (Sgt.)

This rank is awarded based on performance and activity level. The Sgt is the first step to a leadership position in MDG and is therefore tasked with helping the SSgt ensure Squad Member profiles are to Community s.o.p. The Sgt will shadow the SSgt in co-hosting practices and Lobbies and also responsible for taking new Pvt’s under their wing and helping them transition to MDG membership.

To be eligible for the rank of Sgt. you must have attended 30 practices, Hosted a minimum of 5 lobbies OR co-hosted a minimum of 10 practices and have 10 documented recruits. You must be registered on the MDG Website, and a member of Modern Day Gaming Xbl club.

A gamertag change is not required for this rank.

Corporal (Cpl)

This rank is awarded based on performance and activity. This rank is automatically awarded to members who change their gamertag to reflect the MDG Tag (ex. Name of MDG).

To be eligible for this rank, you must have attended 20 practices, and have 5 documented recruits.

Private First Class (PFC)

This rank is awarded based on performance and activity level. To be eligible for this rank, you must have attended 5 practices, and 2 documented recruits.

Private (Pvt)

This rank is awarded upon approval of your MDG Application to Battle Membership. In order to maintain this rank, you must be in the Modern Day Gaming Xbl club, and have 5 posts on the MDG website within the first 2 weeks of being awarded the rank.

S.O.P for All Rank

In order to be eligible for movement within the ranks of MDG Battle Membership, you must meet the practice and recruitment expectations of the next rank. You must also meet the following s.o.p criteria:

-Membership to MDG Website

-Membership in Modern Day Gaming Xbl Club

-A minimum of 10 forum posts per rank

Ex. A Cpl must have 30 posts
Ex. a Sgt. must have 40 posts
